You may be wondering what the recommended safety equipment for hiking includes. Are you planning an outing? Taking a trek across some unchartered land? Where will you be going? Different locations will require different things. The recommended safety equipment for hiking in the flatlands is quite different that the mountains. 

Do you know what the weather will be like? The proper clothing will make your journey more pleasurable. Clothes for cold and hot weather should both be brought along in case the weather changes.

There at least nine things you must have. These include a plan, map, compass, pocket knife, whistle, first aid kid, sunscreen, snake bite kit, and benadryl for bites & stings. These items are essential, but others may be useful as well as recommended safety equipment for hiking.

There another ten things you might want to bring along. These include a cooler, water purifier, a water filter, aluminum foil, a cooking stove, a cooking thermometer, frozen gel packs, plastic bags, matches or lighter, and biodegradable soap. Although these are optional, and not needed for all tours, they can come in handy.

Make a plan, tell others, and stick to it. Nothing can beat a good plan and sticking to it. Even if you need to stray from your original plan, try not to stray far, and tell someone if you can.

Some foods should be kept hot, while others must be kept cold. Keeping your food separate is important. The hot foods can warm the cold ones. The sunshine is beautiful, but can make your food inedible. Keep your food from sunlight. This is especially important for the cold foods. Raw food must be kept cold to avoid spoiling. If you take raw foods to cook while out, be sure to keep them separate. Cooking outdoors is a great adventure - not to mention yummy!.
